Fujian White Crane

Fujian White Crane is a Southern Chinese Martial Art that originated in the Fujan province around 1700 A.D.

Fujian White Crane is characterized by deep rooted stances, close range fighting, and hand techniques.

Fujian White Crane is one of the five animals of the Five Animal Style of Shaolin Boxing. The other animals in this style are the Tiger, Leopard, Snake, and Dragon. Fujian White Crane was created by a Woman, her name was Fang Qiniang.

Qiniang grew up in an area where there were many Cranes. Qiniang studied their movements, and their fighting abilities, and developed this fighting style from these observations.

Fujian White Crane has influenced the development Okinawan Karate, especially Goju Ryu Karate.
