Headknocker Anderson Silva uses the The Art of eight Limbs like a Pissed Off Spider. And wreaks havoc on any opponent that dares to enter inside the wire fence to engage in hand to hand combat with him. It doesn't matter which one of the eight limbs his opponents come in contact with, they're all deadly.

It can be brutal with a Thai knee tasting frenzy, or relatively humane with a fist connecting directly on the chin. But however it happens, when you encounter the Spider, damage will be done.

Anderson Silva is from Brazil and maybe there's no coincidence that Brazil is where some of the world's deadliest spiders live. This Spider is no exception and is among the world's deadliest MMA fighters, one of the top pound-per-pound fighters in the world. Many people believe he is the best.

The Spider: Potent and Lethal

And you can't argue with that, when you see what kind of destruction the Spider brings into the Octagon. Each limb is a weapon and he's using all 8 of them in the Cage. Knees, Elbows, Shins, and the little strip of leather that separates his Knuckles from your Jawbone.

The potency of the Spider's strike is Lethal. It's like a neurotoxin that leaves its victim paralyzed and unconscious on the canvas. And he can crank out the juice with everything he throws. The Spider IS the definition of a headknocker.

Pain and loss of consciousness are the results of an encounter with him, and there are no known antidotes. So having a healthy fear of the Spider is highly recommended.

One of the worst feelings in the world has to be when headknocker Anderson Silva gets his opponent into his Thai-Clinch. It's like when an unsuspecting insect lands in a Black Widow's Clinch. And the odds of escape are about the same.

As the Spider grabs him behind his head and pulls it down, for a split second he realizes what is on its way to his head is an oncoming knee traveling fast enough to make him believe in close encounters of the worse kind.

And then "BAM!" contact has REALLY been made, your face has been rearranged. Next thing you're in some kind of dream, and through the haze you see a bald guy wearing shorts dancing around inside a cage strumming an invisible ukulele. Bad Dream.

So you think you'll just take him to the ground and beat him there. You're still dreaming; you'll be in for a long night of Nightmares there too. Anderson Silva has a great ground game. He has a Black Belt in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu under Antonio Nogeira, one of the best BJJ men around.

Incredible Achievements

Who would have thought Silva could have beaten Dan Henderson on the ground, and submitted him?

And then submitted Travis Lutter on the ground?

Let's face the facts, there is no Good Way to fight the Spider.

Tough guy Forrest Griffin found that out, he couldn't handle the Spider's power. But who can?

Chael Sonner gave the Spider all he could handle for 4 rounds, but then Silva does what he does best. He wins, not by the usual method of Knock Out, but by Tap Out due to a Triangle Choke in the 5th round, to stay undefeated in the UFC.

Add Vitor Belfort to the long list of Silva's opponents that have heard their bell being rung, way before they heard the final bell at Cageside. And from a front Kick to the jaw of all things. Anderson Silva is a creative Knock Out artist.

A tremendous Champion with fantastic Striking Power and accuracy with the ability to finish off anyone, are reasons why Anderson Silva is one of the Greatest headknockers.

And will continue to give opponents Nightmares about Spiders.
